Brush calligraphy : Large Couplet Blessing Good Business
Here I have a nice couplet on some fancy paper, which is a
great decoration of rooms either inside or outside. Red is the celebration color
in China. Because red is the color of flowers, red also is the color of Spring.
The biggest holiday in China is the Spring Festival, i.e., the Chinese new year.
China has lunar calendar. The Spring Festival usually is one month the the new
year in the sun calendar. At the time of the Spring Festival, Spring begins at
most of China.
Couplets are not just two columns of words. There're some strict rules
about the words. First there have to be two sentences with exactly same number
of words. Secondly, the corresponding character must be of the same syntactical
function. In other words, if the first word of the right is noun, then the first
word of the left also has to be a noun. 3. The two columns have to state
something relevant and in same topic.
It says :"Business is brisk and has customers over four seas (means
all over the world). Souce of money is luxuriant and reaches three rivers.
