I wasn¡¯t the author of this thread, nor would I have started it! I have been in many discussions regarding this topic and since both of the Softwares in question continue to upgrade AND the two are now under one roof I think it is a VALID TOPIC. Were not just talking about which one is better.

Me being new here is really irrelevant. What is relevant is that Ryan decided to be a part of the discussion.

There is a rule of thumb regarding the forum culture. If you see a thread that you are not interested in, just ignore it. If you have some information that might be helpful to the author then apply some content. That¡¯s why I was anxious to see if Ryan¡¯s comments had any value.

I don¡¯t mind rehashing subjects like this. Especially with young designers who are anxious to learn and have a actual discussion on a forum.

Internet changed our lives. Most people know how to read and send emails. Emails are hundreds or thousands time faster than paper mail. An email takes seconds to arrive while a paper mail takes days.

Maybe nobody think people can shop online 20 years ago. But today, almost everybody do that. You can buy everything on the internet because you can sell everything on the internet. What is the advantage of the internet business via the local business? One advantage is the sales tax.

If you buy from a seller with 0 feedbacks, you need to be very careful. Fraud exists everywhere, online or offline. If you buy from an online store, please make sure the store looks very professional and credible.

Internet was created in the 70s as a military project. It started as about 3 computers at that time. Right now there are millions of machines on the internet.

The company I work for wants to update their site. From what I¡¯ve researched purchasing either of the above programs will help me get something up sooner than straight coding and with a better result than using Microdevil¡¯s  FrontPage. They make you dependent on proprietary software to both manage and build your sites, when html, css, etc, can be just as easily edited with a nice text editor. The result is cleaner, more portable code, and a far stronger understanding of what you are doing. I have become a much better webmaster and designer since I stopped depending on the software to do it for me.

What should we avoid when shopping online? First, try to buy products from sellers with good reputation. When you buy on ebay, make sure to buy from sellers with an overall good rating. Usually good sellers should have an overall more than 95% positive feedbacks.
