Best retirement gift

It's hard to give a best retirement gift. Because it's hard to find what somebody else really like. And it's even harder to find someone likes and don't cost you a fortune.

Chinese people sometimes like to give expensive best retirement gifts. Chinese people think the more expensive best retirement gift they give, the more they care. That's actually not a good habit. A great best retirement gift should be expressing your thought and not costing a fortune.

Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.

I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.

Chinese calligraphy are popular in China for thousands of years. People decorate rooms with Chinese calligraphy just like painting.

And outside of the rooms, you can see Chinese calligraphy works in tablets and sign of shops everywhere in China. In China, it's an unwritten regulation to have good Chinese calligraphers to write notes, signs and anything of events, small or big.

Chinese calligraphy are never been more popular in the western world. I met some people who practiced Chinese calligraphy for years and loved it, without even knowing what the characters meaning.

But later, as they found that Chinese characters have something more than just a good looking, Chinese calligraphy was born. The invention of Chinese brushes greatly pushed the development of Chinese calligraphy as an art.

Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

In the US, people usually should claim a gift if the value is higher than certain amount. The limit depends on location. Some place might be $50 and some place might be $20. That's a great regulation.

Chinese calligraphy is not just writing Chinese characters. It is not just writing Chinese well. It is not just writing Chinese characters beautifully.

One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

The greatest Chinese calligrapher Wang Xizhi improved his calligraphy a lot after he traveled from south part of China to the north. He said later that it is kind of waste of time to only study Mrs. Wei's calligraphy.
