80th birthday gift

It's hard to give a 80th birthday gift. Because it's hard to find what somebody else really like. And it's even harder to find someone likes and don't cost you a fortune.

Chinese people sometimes like to give expensive 80th birthday gifts. Chinese people think the more expensive 80th birthday gift they give, the more they care. That's actually not a good habit. A great 80th birthday gift should be expressing your thought and not costing a fortune.

I will sing a new song unto thee, O upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

Chinese calligraphy are popular in China for thousands of years. People decorate rooms with Chinese calligraphy just like painting.

And outside of the rooms, you can see Chinese calligraphy works in tablets and sign of shops everywhere in China. In China, it's an unwritten regulation to have good Chinese calligraphers to write notes, signs and anything of events, small or big.

Chinese calligraphy are never been more popular in the western world. I met some people who practiced Chinese calligraphy for years and loved it, without even knowing what the characters meaning.

It is he that giveth salvation unto who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword.

Chinese calligraphy are different from other calligraphy works. Chinese calligraphy is painted by special calligraphy paper (Xuan paper), special brush and special ink.

The greatest Chinese calligrapher Wang Xizhi improved his calligraphy a lot after he traveled from south part of China to the north. He said later that it is kind of waste of time to only study Mrs. Wei's calligraphy.

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

But later, as they found that Chinese characters have something more than just a good looking, Chinese calligraphy was born. The invention of Chinese brushes greatly pushed the development of Chinese calligraphy as an art.
