30th birthday gift

It's hard to give a 30th birthday gift. Because it's hard to find what somebody else really like. And it's even harder to find someone likes and don't cost you a fortune.

Chinese people sometimes like to give expensive 30th birthday gifts. Chinese people think the more expensive 30th birthday gift they give, the more they care. That's actually not a good habit. A great 30th birthday gift should be expressing your thought and not costing a fortune.

In the US, people usually should claim a gift if the value is higher than certain amount. The limit depends on location. Some place might be $50 and some place might be $20. That's a great regulation.

The greatest Chinese calligrapher Wang Xizhi improved his calligraphy a lot after he traveled from south part of China to the north. He said later that it is kind of waste of time to only study Mrs. Wei's calligraphy.
