Great gift idea

It's hard to give a great gift idea. Because it's hard to find what somebody else really like. And it's even harder to find someone likes and don't cost you a fortune.

Chinese people sometimes like to give expensive great gift ideas. Chinese people think the more expensive great gift idea they give, the more they care. That's actually not a good habit. A great great gift idea should be expressing your thought and not costing a fortune.

I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

Chinese calligraphy is not just writing Chinese characters. It is not just writing Chinese well. It is not just writing Chinese characters beautifully.

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

I will sing a new song unto thee, O upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

Chinese calligraphy come from writing Chinese characters. The Chinese characters come from the painting. At the very beginning, people have an intuition about writing Chinese characters well.

One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

Chinese calligraphy are different from other calligraphy works. Chinese calligraphy is painted by special calligraphy paper (Xuan paper), special brush and special ink.

I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.

Chinese calligraphy are popular in China for thousands of years. People decorate rooms with Chinese calligraphy just like painting.

And outside of the rooms, you can see Chinese calligraphy works in tablets and sign of shops everywhere in China. In China, it's an unwritten regulation to have good Chinese calligraphers to write notes, signs and anything of events, small or big.

Chinese calligraphy are never been more popular in the western world. I met some people who practiced Chinese calligraphy for years and loved it, without even knowing what the characters meaning.
